Handbook for women entrepreneurs visiting the Netherlands

During the past few years the Yente network has been expanding rapidly. An increasing number of women entrepreneurs from different parts of the world connect and expand their business network through the Yente network.

Yente experiences an increase in requests of information about visiting The Netherlands. Women entrepreneurs from the Yente network in the Netherlands definitely like to meet their counterparts from other countries. However, due to the limited human resources of Yente and women entrepreneurs in her network it will not be possible to escort each and every individual women entrepreneur during her whole visit.

In order to help to make your visit to Holland a successful experience Yente has decided to offer you this handbook with general and practical information about visiting the Netherlands and doing business in the Netherlands.

Yente connects women entrepreneurs from around the world either via the website and the digital community MYente or via trade missions, seminars and meetings. If you want to expand your business to the Netherlands it can be very helpful to plan a visit to the Netherlands and do your own research. You will need to get to know the country by yourself to be able to get a feel of the business opportunities and business climate.

We advise you to plan your trip well in advance. The preparation for your trip to the Netherlands depends also on your business goals and the results you want to achieve. Dutch is the national language but most people speak English. For communicating with the Dutch, understanding and speaking English is a must.
