The ICCO Alliance gender policy describes the common goal of contributing to gender equality and women's empowerment and the strategy we have developed to achieve this goal. The gender strategy focuses on learning. Gender mainstreaming and women's empowerment are transformative change processes, which require specific ways of unlearning and learning gender.
Unlearning means identifying and changing the foundations of perceptions and patterns of behavior that lead to gender inequality. Learning involves re-founding perceptions and behavior and developing new perspectives and plans for the future. Yente is member of the ICCO-alliance.
