About Yente

International network of female entrepreneurs

The Yente Foundation puts female entrepreneurs from countries such as Peru, Bolivia, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Tanzania and South-Africa, in touch with female entrepreneurs from The Netherlands. By means of annual trade missions, ongoing sparring partner programs and match making, Yente collects the building blocks for a growing network of female entrepreneurs from the different continents.

Strengthen the female entrepreneurship

Female entrepreneurs play a key role in durable development. They not only invest in their own company, but also in their family, their employees and the community.

As such, Yente comes up in particular for female entrepreneurs in developing countries and growing economies, for whom they want to create opportunities. This occurs through the increase of their knowledge and their skills, and by offering them an international platform for their network organizations.

The Yente Foundation derives its name from the character of the famous musical 'Fiddler on the roof': the female match maker Yente - and this is exactly what Yente wants to be: an international match maker.

To grow and to do international business

Yente is since 2006 an independent foundation, under the lead of a two-headed team of directors and with the support of an experienced management. The activities are focused on female entrepreneurs in the segment of small and medium Enterprises, both in developing countries as in The Netherlands. Entrepreneurs who evolve beyond the micro level and who are making the necessary steps to grow and to do business on an international level and to exchange knowledge.

On the website of the Yente Foundation you can find more information about Yente's history, her objective and mission.
